Wartime Wrexham

You took the gas mask everywhere, fitting brown sticky strips of paper to your windows to save the glass coming in on you in the event of a blast. Covering the windows and doors with blankets to stop any light escaping into the street and a highlight of the week was collecting your chocolate bar with your ration book. A bomb fell on the Brickie but fortunately it didn't explode.
