Miss Sheehan writes, "My grandfather Mr. Harry Cecil Jones, who sadly passed away in 1939, was worshipper at the Church when it was situated on Ruthin Road & continued being involved in the new building in Poyser Street." She remembers her grandfather as superintendent of the Sunday school. She continues "Mr. Jones was Father Christmas when the annual party was held in the Church House. We congregated in the main hall to receive a gift from Father Christmas who sat near a large tree gaily decorated. We would be exited when handed a parcel & Father Christmas used to say ‘be a good girl for your mother'. My late sister (4 years older) was reported in the Deanery Church Magazine, "Little Muriel Sheenan thought Father Christmas was her Granddad" - she had apparently recognized his voice." When Mr. Jones passed away his funeral service was held in St Michael's and the Rev. Donald Henry Evans officiated, he now lives in Audiem nr. Crewe. Miss Sheenan remembers him being very kind to children especially when they were ill. He bought one of the icons for the Church. The kindergarten Sunday school was well attended and they used to stage a play also at the Church house where they were commended for their efforts. They also had an annual trip to the seaside.
