One of the oldest businesses on this Road is Mossfords they make marble headstones. Mr. James Arthur Mossford was the son of Mr. William Mossford a Monumental Mason from Crewe. He was only 21 years of age when he started a business in Overton-On-Dee. In October 1899 he transferred his business to Ruabon Road where he gained a wonderful reputation for excellent work. His work includes the War Memorials at Coedpoeth, Johnstown, Rhos and Pen-Y-Cae. The business stayed in the hands of the Mossford family until it was taken over by Ewart Maelor Jones (Hughie) in 1984.
